What you'll do
In a spacious DT workroom set in beautiful grounds that have inspired 'The Borrowers, ' you'll delve into the art of traditional stained glasswork on this one or two-day workshop. Create your own stunning stained glass panel, whether it's for hanging, standing, or fitting inside or outside. Using an array of coloured and textured glass, you'll craft your individual abstract design under Anna's expert guidance.
- Learn how to cut glass, 'lead up, ' solder, cement, and even potentially install your finished panel.
- For the one-day workshop, you'll work on abstract designs provided, ensuring you leave with a completed panel on the same day.
- If you opt for the two-day experience, you'll have the opportunity to design and make a panel or mirror of 10 to 12 pieces or work from a template. Design guidance will be provided before the workshop.
Don't worry if you're new to stained glasswork – Anna is there to help you throughout the process. All the necessary stained glass tools will be provided for use, just bring your lunch and a mug, and you can look forward to a fascinating and memorable day.
And.... parking is FREE and right next to the workshop!
What you'll get
- All tools, materials, and refreshments are included in the course cost. However, this does not include red, dark purple, and pure orange glass, which can be bought at trade price on the day and is normally £1-5.
- There will be a selection of materials and tools available from Anna at trade price should you wish to carry on at home.

TUTOR PROFILE. Anna Conti has been taking commissions for over 30 years. Her first commissioned piece was for Sir Richard Branson.
Whilst studying a degree in Industrial design, her imagination was caught by contemporary stained glass. Without hesitation she moved to Chelsea School of Art to learn the craft. Since then she’s been working in both traditional and contemporary designs and takes on renovation work.
‘It’s the sheer beauty of light falling through coloured glass with it’s bubbles and imperfections that never ceases to amaze and fascinate me.......I never get tired of my job’.
Apart from commissions, Anna runs workshops teaching the craft on an individual basis or to groups of all ages. She also gives regular talks on the subject of stained glass and appeared as their stained glass expert on ITV’s ‘This Morning’.
