If you're looking for fun things to do in Bristol, come along to this soap making workshop, where you'll learn how to make natural, artisan soaps the traditional way.
Hosted by local maker Karen in her cosy home, you'll get some first-hand experience of how soap is made, using the finest natural ingredients and time-honoured processes. Then it'll be your turn to try your hand at this soothing craft for yourself as you create your own indulgent, soap loaf — enough for you to slice into five or six bars.
You'll also enjoy a bonus demonstration of how to make your own nourishing lip balm, along with a sample of the finished product to take home with you along with your soap. Whether you're an eco-conscious beauty lover wanting more insight into how things are made or want to save some pennies by making your own luxury artisan soap, you'll love the soothing process of pouring your own soap — it won't be long before you're hooked!

This would also be a nice gift for her, gift for mum, anniversary gift or birthday gift.
I'm Karen, owner of Margaret May Soaps and passionate artist. I've always loved traditional, handmade soap and using natural ingredients, and I can't wait to pass on these skills to you through my fun soap making workshops.
The name of the business is my grandmother's, Margaret May, which appears as MMaySoaps in the logo and stamped onto the soaps. Margaret May was a strong and feisty independent Somerset farmer’s wife. She set up several small businesses herself. She was fascinated when I went to art school and then went travelling. She would have loved these products and the local business ethos. She would also have been familiar with soap making on the farm especially in her childhood and during the war.
Whether you're looking for hen party ideas, a date night with a difference or just want something fun and creative to do, give one of my workshops a go.
