Join us in Bristol for a full day introduction to the art of making stained glass panels

Learn the traditional stained glass craft and make a unique panel or decorative mirror from scratch at this hands-on Bristol workshop. Guided by your passionate teacher from Creative Space, you'll experience how rewarding DIY glass art can be!

In this beginner-friendly class, we'll cover all the stained glass processes including glass cutting, leading, soldering, cementing and polishing your piece.

Choose from a large range of templates that will enable you to get a good grounding in the core skills, and finish your piece during the day ready to take home and show off! Learn about different types of glass and choose from a wide range of colours and textures to suit your style.

At the end of the workshop, you'll have your finished piece in hand, ready to display at home and impress your friends with your newfound stained glass skills. Come along and enjoy a creative activity that will leave you with a beautiful glass art masterpiece to cherish.

Please note:

  • Due to the use of lead it is recommended that pregnant women do not attend.
  • Use of a soldering flux derived from animal fat is necessary for this workshop, so regrettably it is not vegan.
  • Minimum age requirement: 16.

Catherine Dunstan


Catherine Dunstan is an award-winning glass artist based here in Staple Hill. Catherine specialises in pattern-making in glass, creating sculpture and wall art featuring 3D kaleidoscopic patterns.

She graduated with an MA in Glass (Distinction) from the University for the Creative Arts in 2021, with her graduate work receiving a commendation from the Contemporary Glass Society. She was shortlisted for New Ashgate Gallery’s Rising Stars Prize 2021 and was awarded funding by QEST in 2023 to pursue further training. Catherine continues to exhibit and teach both nationally and internationally and takes great joy in sharing her enthusiasm for glass with her students. She is the author of Creative and Professional Development for Glass Artists.
